Birkenstock Boston clogs might be designed for outdoor use, but they make plenty sense as house shoes. CNCPTS, the American sneaker boutique behind countless stylish New Balances, certainly agrees.

The retailer is expanding its ongoing Birkenstock “felt series” for Fall/Winter 2025, further blurring the line between stylish clog and cozy slipper. The American sneaker boutique and the German shoemaker have made the backless Boston shoe both more luxe and toastier.

Gone is the usual rough-textured durable suede upper, replaced with soft wool felt more typical of a slipper. But they’re still not slippers, technically. These are the same useful German-made Boston clogs that’ll be celebrating their 50th anniversary next year, they’re just a little cozier.

Atop the fuzzy new fabric is a vegetable-tanned leather strap, a luxurious touch that justifies the shoes' release as part of Birkenstock’s high-end 1774 line, where it’s available for $195.

Birkenstock 1774 is on a mission to prove Birkenstock sandals aren’t only for summer.

But these felt clogs are nowhere near its most extreme winter warmers.

Previously, the high-end diffusion line reimagined two-strap Arizona sandals as $390 puffers and made a pair of sliders almost unrecognisable under an excess of faux pony hair, yielding furry creatures priced at $520.

Consider felt clogs a comparatively simple alternative for getting your Birkenstock fix during the colder months.
